What causes the code?
- Failed Camshaft Actuator
- Variable Camshaft Timing Circuit open or shorted
- Variable Camshaft Timing Circuit poor electrical connection
- Engine mechanical problems

Although the service manual suggests that there is a problem with the Camshaft Position Sensor, usually replacing the VANOS seal kit takes care of the problem.
